What gear do girls need to feel comfortable and safe in the woods?

I know that as a woman who heads outdoors that I like to be comfortable. This includes my sleeping bag and a nice tent that can withstand thunderstorms.
If there was a girl just starting out, what gear and advice would you give her?
If there was a girl just starting out, I would tell her to not over think it, because then she will bring too much, and also to definitely have good shoes that secure around her ankle.
Here is a basic list of what I bring when I head out:
Sunscreen! I like the Sunbum brand.
My Mora companion, this is a good basic knife. You can’t do heavy use like batoning but it will get you by.
A pack to put it all in.
A stainless steel mug and some tea.
I bring shorts for the tent but pants for walking trails. Columbia has some great trail pant options.
Bug spray.
Feminine products for just in case.
A good book! And some snacks.
Always have an extra pair of socks.
I like to always have extra Hair ties.
